Conceived in 2004 and after many months of planning and preparation, the Budget Bitch Company was finally born in early 2007.
Designed specifically to assist every Australian in the right to a financially sustainable lifestyle, Budget Bitch Pty Ltd operates as a Personal Budget Planning, Budget Coaching and Budget Education enterprise.
Since its inception, Budget Bitch has achieved many milestones through television, radio and various publications. Budget Bitch has made considerable inroads into changing the way many people think about their financial future.

Carmel McCartin
Born during the late 50’s, as the second eldest of 9, Carmel grew up knowing that money was a scarce commodity. Budgeting was second nature for this family, and the lessons were learned at a young age.
Carmel works at the coal face of the finance industry. She helps people to reduce their debt and save money for their future by using simple techniques and her ‘no-nonsense’ approach.
She has a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and a Diploma of Mortgage Lending.
Her clients affectionately call her “the Budget Bitch”, and it is their amazing results that keep her committed and inspired.
Mike Betts
Mike is what's known as a “baby boomer” - growing up in the 50’s and 60’s - in what was then a traditional family. It was from this upbringing that he was taught how to save his money… things did not come easy in those days.
He worked for over 30 years with a major Australian financial institution and was able to see first hand the effects from poor decisions, made by both borrowers and financiers. In that time he developed an intricate knowledge of the finance industry and the business strategies of the big banks.
Mike firmly believes the Budget Bitch approach is the answer to many social problems experienced by countless Australians and is delighted to be part of the team.
Mike has a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning), plus a Graduate Diploma in Land Economy and is an Associate of the Australian Property Institute.
